The Pea Revelation

Not green peas, no, no, we use the ferocious Yellow Split Pea and mouth-watering Coconut Cream, as this unique blend is not only super nutritious but also sustainable. Yellow Split Peas are also nutritionally dense; they are naturally high in protein and fibre, and are low in calories (bonussss!). Did you know? Field Peas are the only crop that provide an abundant, inexpensive and sustainable source of Nitrogen. Click below to find out how.

Carbon Footprint

Ok onto some serious stuff. In case you haven’t noticed, at The Good Pea Co., we take Climate change very seriously. We know that a combined climate-carbon crisis is estimated to claim 100 million lives between now and the end of the next decade. In the UK in 2009, 10% of energy demand came from industry and globally in 2008, 52% of energy demand came from industry, including the Food and Beverage sector. Peas fix nitrogen by taking it from the air and convert it to a usable fertiliser. With the reduction in applied nitrogen, fertiliser run-off can be reduced keeping our waterways, lakes and oceans cleaner. I mean, can someone create a superhero cape for the ferocious Yellow Pea?
